Banking Wire Transfers

Bank wire transfers are probably the most common type of money transfers. Most banks just require an account number and a routing number. Bank wire transfers made from the United States to countries such as India, Mexico, France, Germany and other European countries, may take longer than just simple transfers within the USA.

If you are looking at doing a bank wire transfer, the cheapest way to transfer money through a bank wire is going to be through a company that provides the service. Western Union, Ikobo & eMoneyGram are all companies that can do wire transfers for a fee.

Depending on who you bank with, whether it be Bank of America, Wachovia, Wells Fargo or Chase Bank, charges for bank wire transfers may be included. Most of these banks provide debit cards and credit cards which you can also use to do bank wire transfers. This is most often the safest way to get the money from one account to another. The money is usually seen inside the recipients account within 3 business days.

Make sure to check with the services used if not doing direct banking transfers to see what kind of fees may be incurred.
